Medicare - Parts A, B and D, Supplemental & Advantage

Welcome to the Medicare department at Cherry City Insurance Services.

“Navigating Medicare should be as easy as having a conversation with a trusted advocate. Having spent years working closely with seniors, we have seen firsthand how incredibly confusing and overwhelming the healthcare system can be. We have also stood in your shoes, while personally helping our own parents navigate these complex choices. We founded this agency because we believe you deserve clear answers, honest guidance, and a trusted partner to help protect your health and peace of mind.” - Al and Laura Alvarado

Medicare Enrollment Options

Original Medicare

Part A – Hospital Insurance helps cover: • Inpatient care in hospitals • Skilled nursing facility care • Hospice care • Home health care

Part B – Medical Insurance helps cover: • Services from doctors and other health care providers • Outpatient care • Home health care • Durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, and other equipment) • Many preventive services

Original Medicare doesn’t pay all of the cost for covered health care services & supplies. Many people choose to add coverage for prescriptions and supplemental costs related to Part A hospital in patient charges and other Part B services.

Plus, Add A Prescription & Medicare Supplement Plan

Part D – Prescription Drug Coverage helps cover the cost of prescription drugs. Plans that offer Medicare drug coverage (Part D) are run by private insurance companies that follow rules set by Medicare such as the yearly drug deductible and out of pocket maximum.

Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policies sold by private insurance companies can help pay some of the remaining health care costs for covered services and supplies, like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Some Medigap policies also cover services Original Medicare doesn’t cover, like medical care when you travel outside the U.S. Generally, Medigap doesn’t cover long-term care, vision or dental services, hearing aids, eyeglasses, or private-duty nursing.

Medicare Advantage

A Medicare-approved plan from a private company that offers an alternative to Original Medicare for your health and drug coverage.

  • These plans bundle together your Part A, Part B, and usually Part D.

  • You may need to use doctors in its network and get approval for certain drugs or services.

  • Usually have different out-of-pocket costs than Original Medicare, including a limit on out-of-pocket yearly costs.

  • Most plans offer extra benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover— like vision, hearing, dental, and more.
